At CES 2023, MSI will present a complete new lineup of laptops, including several winners of the CES 2023 Innovation Awards. Here, the latest models rely on 13th-generation Intel Core processors and the GPUs of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 series. According to the manufacturer, the first models will be released in Germany in February 2023.
For the most demanding gamers, MSI provides the two notebooks Titan GT77 HX and Raider GE78 HX. They are equipped in the maximum configuration with the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor and the latest NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics chips up to the laptop top-of-the-line GeForce RTX 4090 GPU with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory.
MSI's OverBoost Ultra technology can simultaneously supply both the processor and the graphics with maximum electrical power even under full load. For particularly CPU-intensive tasks, all eight P-cores of the CPU can also be fired in parallel with Max Boost performance.
In the Titan GT77 HX, MSI also relies on an exclusive 144 Hz Ultra HD display with mini-LED technology to achieve pinpoint and high-contrast illumination, all with a brightness of 1,000 nits. The display quality is DisplayHDR 1000 certified, the highest level of the VESA HDR standard.
They are joined by the 17.3-inch Raider GE78 HX and its 15.6-inch Raider GE68 HX sibling, which rely on a QHD+ display with 240 hertz. Another eye-catching feature of the new Raider models is the updated light bar on the front, which offers a new modern look with matrix LED technology.
The Dynaudio sound system has been made even more powerful with more speakers – including force-cancelling technology for reduced cabinet vibrations on the Raider GE78 HX. The touchpad has also been optimized and enlarged, as well as the Full HD webcam with infrared face detection and sliding bezel.
Sleek and powerful, the award-winning MSI Stealth series now comes in even more varieties, with a choice of display sizes at 14.0, 15.6, 16.0 and 17.3 inches. The Stealth 14 Studio, Stealth 16 Studio and Stealth 17 Studio are NVIDIA Studio-certified laptops, making them ideal for creative workflows and especially compact thanks to their slim design.
Despite a large 16-inch QHD+ display at 240Hz, the Stealth 16 Studio is an ultra-thin, lightweight and powerful laptop that features the latest 13th generation Intel Core processors and up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU.
For optimal heat dissipation, the newly developed thermal system features 2 fans and 7 heat pipes. This allows the laptop to unleash its full performance while remaining especially quiet and cool thanks to its magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis – despite weighing just 1.99 kg and being only 19.95 mm thick. In addition, there is an enduring battery with a capacity of 99 Wh.
The Stealth 14 Studio is the most compact and lightest gaming laptop in MSI's portfolio with a 16:10 screen in 14-inch format, offers impressive performance thanks to MSI Vapor Chamber cooling and the latest Intel and NVIDIA technology.
Visually, the notebook is also extremely chic with a smoky white exterior and darkened interior design. Inside the 19mm-thin aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis are the latest 13th-generation Intel Core processors and up to 8GB of GDDR6 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPUs.
The QHD+ 240 Hz wide-view display, SteelSeries illuminated keyboard with RGB single-key illumination and Dynaudio's 4-speaker multi-range system round out the technology expertly.
The Stealth 15 will be optionally available with revolutionary OLED display with QHD+ resolution and high frame rate of 240 Hz. It also supports a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 True Black certified.
The latest Intel and NVIDIA technology is also moving into MSI's popular Pulse and Katana series. These additionally benefit from higher performance: A graphics multiplexer chip (MUX) is now not only used in MSI's high-end models, but in all models from the Katana series upwards.
Thus, it is possible to switch between the two operating modes "Discrete Graphics Mode" and "MSI Hybrid Graphics Mode" (NVIDIA Optimus) at the push of a button. The shared pipe design has also been optimized, which should enable a more balanced heat dissipation of the processor and graphics chip.
A new addition to MSI's notebooks at CES 2023 is the MSI Cyborg 15, which relies on an exclusive design with semi-transparent chassis elements and comes in a 22 mm thin case.
Current Intel CPUs and a graphics chip of the GeForce RTX-40 graphics generation are supposed to provide a convincing performance, "without straining the wallet excessively," according to the manufacturer.
The Cyborg 15's high performance is supported by the built-in DDR5 memory, while the SSD is connected via PCIe 4. The blue backlit keyboard offers an extra number pad and highlighted transparent WASD keys.
MSI also has new notebooks on hand for content creators. Namely, in the form of the new Creator Z series models called Creator Z17 HX Studio and Creator Z16 HX Studio. They are CNC machined and focus on a stylish look.
From a technical perspective, the Creator Z-Series is equipped with the top processors from the 13th Intel HX generation up to the Core i9 version and is NVIDIA Studio certified. The thermal vapor chamber cooler design ensures efficient cooling even under full load.
MSI will also introduce the latest 13th generation Intel processors in its Business & Productivity line with the Summit, Prestige and Modern models. Depending on the model, either the integrated Intel Evo solution or an NVIDIA RTX-40 GPU will be used as the graphics solution.
The new Prestige 14 Evo and Prestige 16 Evo models are equipped with the latest Intel Core i7 processors from the H-series. The Prestige 16 Studio also features a GeForce RTX 40 series laptop GPU. The Thunderbolt 4 ports, Full HD webcam with IR face detection and sliding bezel, integrated fingerprint scanner and white illuminated comfort keyboard leave nothing to be desired.
The brand new 13-inch Prestige 13 Evo is the lightest notebook in the entire MSI series. The notebook weighs just 990 grams and turns out extremely slim with 16.9 mm. Impressive: The case accommodates a 75 Wh battery, which is supposed to enable a runtime of up to 15 hours.
Matching accessories are also part of MSI's novelties: The input pen MSI Pen 2 works with the latest Microsoft MPP2.6 protocol and supports haptic feedback. Together with pressure and tilt detection, the new variant offers a realistic writing experience.
Most excitingly, thanks to a unique graphite pen tip, the Pen 2 is said to be able to write on both touchscreens and paper without you having to replace the tip.
When and at what prices the new MSI notebooks will be available in stores at CES 2023, the manufacturer has unfortunately not yet announced. However, more details will be provided in due course.
