The most recent chapter of Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man -- Chapter 129, "Save Me, Chainsaw Man" -- came out on May 9, 2023. Readers needed to wait two weeks for it to arrive after the previous chapter due to Golden Week, a Japanese holiday when many manga publishers do not release new content. There will now be another two-week wait for fans of the series before Chapter 130 debuts.

Chapter 129 followed directly from the previous installment, which ended on a cliffhanger after a fake Chainsaw Man appeared and tasked Denji with surviving from devils alongside Asa until sunrise. After this, the pair were attacked by massive tendrils as they jumped through a doorway back to Earth. Yoru, the War Devil, then attempted to convince Asa to finish off the downed Chainsaw Man, but instead, she used her blood to revive him and asked him to save her again as another tendril attacked.

From there, the pair ran away from their attacker, with Asa convincing Denji to steal a motorbike. He first refused as the rider was a woman, and he did not want to steal from them, but then agreed after Asa pointed out a bike being ridden by a man. Asa then transformed the vehicle into a "Super Chainsaw Man Motorcycle," helping them escape.

Chainsaw Man is currently in its second major saga, known as the "Academy Saga." This arc follows the "Public Safety" saga, which saw Denji -- the titular Chainsaw Man -- make a pact with his devil-dog Pochita and fall into the clutches of the mysterious Makima. The "Academy Saga" switches the focus to a troubled high schooler named Asa, who enacts a contract with the War Devil. This devil uses her new vessel to attempt to destroy her arch-nemesis, Chainsaw Man.

Fujimoto's series received an anime adaptation in 2022 courtesy of Studio MAPPA. The anime is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
